Yeah, there has been worse. The looks of that one might lead to a randome, window, maybe inlet cowls. Suprisingly, some of the worst damage a plane can suffer due to hail is when on the ground. The upper surfaces of the slats, flaps, spoilers and other soft surfaces can take a lot of damage really quick.

Do you usually have to replace the entire radar system at that point? Or is it more sturdy than I'd expect?

Something like shown in the pic probably got to the antenna. If the bits of dome got in there it might have jammed the radars motor. That's not good either. The radar antenna are pretty fragile. Here is a similar unit on a 737.

I figured radar electronics were fragile, but I'm also constantly surprised by how well everything else in an airplane holds up to damage.

They are designed to be damage tolerant. Aluminum is bendy (technical term) and that helps. A lot of things on the planes are very strong when loaded the right way. They can also be fragile when loaded in a way they are not designed for. Most people don't realize that the fuselage skins on most planes are between 0.032" and 0.063". Pretty damn thin.

The radomes tend to be fiberglass with maybe a bit of Kevlar in there. I want to say two plies of cloth over a core of honeycomb or foam and a couple of more plies on the inner skin. The need to be strong enough to hold their shape and survive in the environment, but thin enough to allow for good transmisivity (real technical term) for the radar.

Look up water ingestion test on YouTube. There are probably hail ingestion tests too but I've never looked for them. They run literally tons of water per minute through these engines when they are on the test stands.
